In My Own Words
Welcome to this special collection of my music as selected by myself and my label: Quest Records. I am so very grateful to be able to offer you, my friends and fans, this anthology celebrating 75 years of life and my music to date. In the darkest of times music has sustained me and when the darkness lifted, it afforded the opportunity to share my experiences, and inner thoughts. There were times when I would rise up in rage or confusion about the way the world around me was behaving. Then I would hear Nina (Simone) whisper into my ear, “It is the duty of the artist to reflect the times they live in”. And another song would flow from my subconscious spirit into my conscious being. I would want to give voice to my concerns and have been very fortunate to benefit from the creative support of so many talented musicians who would generously share in the making of my music, time after time. To them I say, “I love you and I thank you with all my heart”.
Like all of you, my journey has not been without its share of bumps in the road and wrong turns that can leave you feeling lost. By expressing my fears and failures; successes and concerns in song, I do hope that you understand you are not alone in life. Having this connection of music with all of you has made me realize how truly blessed I am.
For that, it is with deepest gratitude, that I present my Diamond Collection... enjoy !
My Blessings to all, Dalannah
